Jennie performed at 'Summer Sonic 2026,' which took place on the 14th at Zozo Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan, and on the 16th at Osaka Expo '70 Commemorative Park.
"Summer Sonic" is Japan’s premier summer music festival, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Jennie headlined on both days, connecting with the local audience.
At the Tokyo show, she closed out the “MOUNTAIN” stage by performing songs such as “Mantra” and “like JENNIE,” heating up the atmosphere.
A representative from her agency, OA Entertainment, described the atmosphere, saying, “JENNIE, who was visiting Japan for the first time in a while, filled the performance with not only her hit songs but also a variety of unreleased tracks.”
Meanwhile, after JENNIE’s “Summer Sonic 2026” Tokyo performance ended, a video of her on stage—which appeared to show a wardrobe malfunction—surfaced online, sparking controversy. The video alone recorded over 16 million views on X (formerly Twitter).
In response, some observers have raised the possibility that the video was manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Her agency has not yet issued a separate statement.
