Madison Huang, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Omniverse and Robotics at NVIDIA, gave this response and gave a thumbs-up when asked by reporters on the 18th for her impressions of the meeting with LGELECTRONICS.

At around 11:12 a.m. that day, Senior Director Huang emerged from the building at LGELECTRONICS’ Yangjae Research and Development (R&D) Campus in Seocho-gu, Seoul, alongside LGELECTRONICS CEO Ryu Jae-cheol, LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-kyun, and LG Science Park CEO Jeong Su-heon. After exchanging greetings with them, he got into a black Palisade and drove past the press. When asked, “How was the meeting?” he rolled down the window, smiled broadly, and replied, “Incredible.”

A warm and friendly atmosphere was evident at the scene. LG Corp. executives and employees, including CEO Ryu, remained outside the building even after the car carrying Senior Director Hwang had pulled away, waving until the very end to see him off. Senior Director Hwang also waved back with the car window rolled down.

Senior Director Huang quietly entered the campus around 8:40 a.m. that day without any public schedule. About 10 minutes later, at around 8:50 a.m., Jeong So-young, CEO of NVIDIA Korea, also arrived at the scene. The meeting lasted approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes—about 30 minutes longer than the initially expected duration of around 2 hours.

The atmosphere at the Yangjae R&D Campus was generally quiet and calm that day. Inside the Robot Data Factory that LGELECTRONICS is currently constructing there, construction work was underway, and on-site workers came and went intermittently. The Data Factory is a kind of “robot training center” where robots’ motion data is collected and used for training in environments similar to homes or factories.

Although the specific details of the discussion were not disclosed, given the composition of the attendees and the location of the visit, it appears they discussed collaboration plans in the fields of robotics and physical artificial intelligence (AI), including the operation of the Data Factory.

This visit took place just five days after LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic business cooperation in the United States on the 13th. LGELECTRONICS is developing bipedal humanoid robots using NVIDIA’s computing modules for robotics and humanoid foundation models.

Senior Director Huang had also met with CEO Ryu at the LG Corp. Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, last April and described the meeting as “fantastic.” This time, however, he used the even stronger term “incredible” and gave a thumbs-up, leading to speculation that the robotics collaboration between the two companies has entered a concrete implementation phase.
