[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] AI specialist LaonPeople Inc.(300120)has completed a stock consolidation and will resume trading on the 20th. The company plans to pursue growth centered on profitability, building on its return to profitability in the second quarter and the expansion of its order backlog and exports. LaonPeople Inc. announced on the 18th through its recently submitted semi-annual report that it returned to profitability in both operating income and net income for the second quarter. To address the loss-making structure that persisted through last year, the company divested low-margin businesses and restructured its portfolio to focus on high-margin segments such as generative AI, industrial AI solutions, and its global golf business. At the same time, it reduced the burden of fixed costs by streamlining organizational operations and cutting selling, general, and administrative expenses. New orders are also on the rise. The order backlog secured in key businesses—including AI vision, generative AI platforms, and camera module inspection—has now exceeded 6 billion won. Overseas, the company is expanding supply in North America, Canada, and Australia, centered on its AI golf sensor “VTrack” and training solution “SwingEZ.” In Thailand, the company is pursuing AI monitoring and smart city construction projects based on neural processing units (NPUs), and plans to expand into the Southeast Asian market based on local pilot projects. In the generative AI business, the company is targeting the public and corporate markets with its enterprise Agent AI platform “HI FENN,” manufacturing data analytics solution “HI FENN NEXUS,” and AI video surveillance platform “OdinAi.” Recently, it secured a contract to build an Agent AI platform for a global semiconductor equipment company. LaonPeople Inc. plans to continue improving its performance in the second half of the year by capitalizing on new orders and the expansion of its overseas business. The company expects that as cost structure improvements are implemented and the expansion of new AI businesses and overseas sales gains momentum, the likelihood of achieving an annual profit will increase.
