[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Actor Hong Min-gi has refuted the allegations made by his ex-girlfriend, Ms. A. Hong Min-ki (Photo: News1)Hong Min-ki’s agency, Fable Company, issued a statement on the 19th, saying, “We sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people regarding matters involving our actor Hong Min-ki.” The statement continued, “As this matter stemmed from a personal relationship, the actor has refrained as much as possible from public responses or legal action, hoping that the situation with the other party (Ms. A) would be resolved amicably.” The agency explained the reason for issuing the statement: “However, Ms. A publicly disclosed a certified letter she sent to the actor and related posts via her personal social media accounts. These posts contain numerous claims that differ from the facts as we understand them, and they are rapidly spreading through the media and online communities. Accordingly, our agency and the actor wish to clarify the verified facts to prevent further misunderstandings and harm.” They continued, “Ms. A and the actor began dating around April 2026, but during their relationship, we confirmed that Ms. A was maintaining regular contact with her ex-boyfriend.” They added, “Ms. A admitted via letter and private messages that she had been seeing other men during their relationship, stating, ‘When I think about the pain I caused you, I know full well that I have no right to approach you like this. ‘There’s no excuse for it—I’m truly sorry,’” acknowledging her wrongdoing and apologizing repeatedly. However, the actor determined that the broken trust between them could not be restored and clearly stated on multiple occasions that he had no intention of continuing the relationship as a couple,” the agency explained. Nevertheless, the agency claimed that Mr. A had continued to contact her, demanding that they get back together, stating, “Not only did he frequently visit her home, but he even went as far as visiting the homes of the actress’s family, repeatedly making unwanted, one-sided contact and approaching her against her will.” Furthermore, they stated, “This situation continued until recently; even around 1:00 a.m. today, he came to the actor’s home and rang the doorbell and knocked on the door until 4:00 a.m.” They added, “According to CCTV footage obtained by our agency, it was confirmed that Mr. A engaged in irrational behavior, such as placing a sticker over the CCTV camera at the actor’s front door to prevent recording and then kicking the front door.” The agency stated, “Mr. A exploited the fact that the actor’s public reputation and image are important to him, continuously pressuring him with the threat of disclosing false information to the public. Subsequently, when calling the actor, Mr. A did not hesitate to make statements such as, ‘Whether it’s the truth or not, I’m just going to sue you; once I file a lawsuit, you’ll be *,’ ‘You have a lot to lose,’ ‘It doesn’t matter if you’ve never cursed—the truth isn’t important,’ and ‘If it goes to trial, there’s nothing you can do anyway,’" the agency said. “Nevertheless, when the actor refused to meet with him, Mr. A eventually sent the actor a certified letter containing false claims, and today, he uploaded not only the certified letter but also sensational, untrue allegations—such as the abuse of a pet dog and deceiving fans—to social media, seriously damaging the actor’s reputation,” refuting Mr. A’s claims. The agency added, “We plan to do our utmost to ensure the facts are clearly established through objective evidence and due process,” and stated, “We intend to take legal action related to stalking against the repeated contact and approaches made against the actor’s will, and we plan to pursue all necessary civil and criminal measures, including defamation charges, against acts that damage the actor’s reputation by publicly disclosing and spreading false information.” Previously, Ms. A had posted a certified letter addressed to Hong Min-gi on her social media account. The letter stated, “(Hong Min-gi) caused me fear and severe psychological trauma by, among other things, throwing a soju bottle at me on the street, causing it to shatter. When I couldn’t be reached, he threatened to ‘kill us both’ and assaulted me by hitting my shoulder hard, shoving me, and grabbing my neck.” She also alleged that he violated her privacy by accessing her cell phone and caused her serious injury by forcing her to ride a kick scooter while he was intoxicated. Ms. A also revealed details about Hong Min-ki’s behavior. She described him as someone who “insulted his ex-girlfriend—who is currently an active actress—by saying, ‘Women are at their best in their early 30s; once they pass that, they’re just middle-aged women,’ and added, ‘I’m a patriotic conservative, and I’m all for implementing a volunteer military system. Women should also serve in the military,’ and ‘Men are the sky, women are the earth’—a person who proudly makes such anachronistic remarks.” She added, “He is someone who unhesitatingly insulted and looked down on fellow actors, staff, and directors he worked with on set. He denigrates the fans who come to see him, calling them ‘people with no money who act like stalkers just to get their money’s worth,’ and even after attending a birthday party thrown by his fans, he insults the very fans who love him by saying, ‘I didn’t want to go, but I was forced to, and I was so tired. I wanted to storm out of there,’" the source claimed. Furthermore, “This is the person who, in their early 20s, boasted to me about how much fun it was to go to a red-light district, roll down the window, and ask, ‘How much?’” They added, “This is the person who showed off their dog (Leo) on social media but, in reality, abused the dog by cursing at it and kicking it. “He’s also the person who abandoned his dog at home alone for 3–4 days starting from the day I sent a certified letter to his house and then went into hiding. Beyond that, he’s the person who subjected me to constant verbal abuse and gaslighting—telling me things like, ‘My mental illness relapsed because of you,’ ‘I want to die,’ ‘Let’s die together,’ and ‘I’m an idiot for dating you,’” she revealed. Ms. A stated, “Even after our relationship ended, Hong Min-gi lived tormented by guilt, under the delusion that his panic disorder was caused by me. Because of this, I went to Hong Min-gi’s house several times, got down on my knees, and begged for forgiveness, but Hong Min-gi subjected me to verbal abuse and violence—including hurling severe insults and kicking objects around the room—for about 20 to 30 minutes. Then, he brought me back into his home, laid me down on the bed, and said, ‘I’m sorry for cursing at you earlier, but you know I love you, right?’—displaying a completely opposite attitude. Even though we had broken up, he tried to have sex with me and frequently touched me inappropriately,” she added. “It wasn’t until three weeks after the breakup (in late July) that I realized what I had experienced was not love, but clear-cut violence and exploitation. Because of that fear—I had cold sweats and my hands and feet would shake—I couldn’t sleep peacefully even for a single day and was unable to carry on with my daily life. Eventually, I confessed the entire truth to my parents and took legal action (sending a certified letter)," she explained. She added, “There is so much more I want to say. However, I am just an ordinary college student. I, too, did not want this incident to become the subject of gossip or to be reported in the news.” She continued, “Nevertheless, I posted this in the hope that he—who doesn’t even know what he did wrong—will reflect on his actions, acknowledge his mistakes as a human being before being an actor, and sincerely apologize to me.”
