[Edaily Shin Ha-yeon Reporter] #ENCell Co., Ltd. is entering the anti-aging regenerative medicine and skin booster business using stromal vascular fraction (SVF).

ENCell Co., Ltd. announced on the 20th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Benjamin Dermatology to collaborate on SVF-based anti-aging regenerative medicine and skin booster businesses.

Through this agreement, the two companies will pursue the joint development and clinical application of SVF extraction and treatment protocols, the establishment of a cell banking system, collaboration on regenerative medicine between South Korea and Japan, and joint research and development of skin boosters using cells and biomaterials. The plan is to combine ENCell Co., Ltd.’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing and quality control technologies with Benjamin Dermatology’s clinical expertise in skin, scalp, and anti-aging treatments.

SVF is a non-cultured cell mixture obtained by processing adipose tissue; it includes adipose-derived stem and stromal cells, fibroblasts, immune cells, microvascular endothelial cells, and adipose progenitor cells. Since it can be harvested from the patient’s own fat, its potential applications are being studied in various fields, such as skin and soft tissue regeneration, scar improvement, and enhancing the survival rate of fat grafts.

The two companies will first establish standards for SVF extraction and processing, as well as for quality assessment, cryopreservation, and thawing. They also plan to build a cell banking system that allows for the storage of patient-specific cells and their subsequent use in accordance with relevant laws and treatment plans.

Overseas, they will prioritize the Japanese market. They plan to develop SVF processing and storage standards, as well as application protocols for medical institutions, in accordance with local regenerative medicine laws and regulatory approval procedures, and to finalize a supply and operational model for Japanese medical institutions.

ENCell Co., Ltd. also plans to supply SVF-based cell products to local medical institutions in Japan by utilizing its Hanam GMP Plant No. 2, which has obtained certification as a manufacturing facility for specific cell products from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. According to the company, as of June 10, 2026, out of 6,734 valid regenerative medicine treatment plans in Japan, 1,454—or approximately 22%—were in the cosmetic and anti-aging fields.

The companies will also jointly pursue a skin booster business. ENCell Co., Ltd. will develop a product line for the skin and scalp by leveraging its cell processing and quality control technologies as well as its expertise in biomaterials, while Benjamin Dermatology will provide usability evaluations and clinical feedback from the medical field.

ENCell Co., Ltd. official stated, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand the manufacturing and quality control capabilities we have accumulated in the cell and gene therapy business into regenerative medicine for the skin, scalp, and anti-aging,” adding, “We will establish an SVF processing and banking system while laying the groundwork for new growth through supply to domestic and international medical institutions, as well as the development of skin boosters and cell and biomaterials.”
