[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Shares of space launch vehicle company INNOSPACE Co., Ltd.(462350)are plummeting. This is believed to be due to a surge in selling pressure following news that the first test flight of the multipurpose suborbital rocket “Sebit” was terminated early due to an abnormal flight path. According to MP Doctor on the 20th, as of 9:10 a.m., INNOSPACE Co., Ltd. is trading at 6,550 won, down 18.94% (1,530 won) from the previous trading day. INNOSPACE Co., Ltd. announced that it had conducted the Sebit test flight at the Alcantara Space Center in Brazil at 4:30 p.m. local time on the 19th (4:30 a.m. on the 20th, Korea Standard Time) and terminated the flight early. Sebit is a single-stage rocket equipped with a 3-metric-ton (t) thrust hybrid rocket engine, designed to transport payloads to altitudes of 100 km or less. On that day, Sebit ignited from its own launch pad and lifted off normally. However, during the flight, movements deviating from the planned flight path were detected, prompting the Brazilian Air Force to activate the Flight Termination System (FTS) in accordance with launch site safety regulations, thereby terminating the flight. The FTS is a procedure that forcibly terminates a flight—through means such as detonation—and guides the launch vehicle to a safe zone when it deviates from its normal trajectory and poses a danger. INNOSPACE Co., Ltd. reported that Sebit landed within a Brazilian maritime safety zone, and there were no casualties or damage to facilities.
