[Edaily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] Actress Han Ga-in revealed that she has been using a SamsungElectronics refrigerator for 14 years, describing it as “a refrigerator that has been part of our family’s history.” She explained that it has been a “household partner” that has been part of her daily life, storing everything from her first child’s baby food to the ingredients the whole family eats today.

SamsungElectronics announced on the 24th that it had released an interview with Han Ga-in about her experience using the refrigerator via its Newsroom.

Han Ga-in explained that when choosing large home appliances, she prioritizes performance, after-sales service (AS), and design. Since such items are typically used for a long time after purchase, she said she checks not only the product’s quality but also the service system that ensures its performance is maintained over the long term.

“When large home appliances break down, daily life comes to a standstill immediately, but SamsungElectronics provides reliable after-sales service, which gives me greater peace of mind when making a purchase,” she said. “The minimalist design, which blends naturally with the kitchen, still looks sophisticated and beautiful even now, 14 years later.”

Han Ga-in served as a SamsungElectronics advertising model for about eight years, from 2005 to 2012. She noted that, based on the trust she built through her experience with various products during that time, she still uses SamsungElectronics products for most of her home appliances today. She explained that she also appreciates the convenience of device connectivity by linking her smartphone, tablet, and home appliances via SmartThings.

Currently, Han Ga-in has a refrigerator and a freezer installed side by side to store groceries for her family of five. She sets different temperatures for the two units to store general groceries, herbal medicine, and her children’s milk separately. She also highlighted the storage design—including deep storage compartments and adjustable shelves—as a key advantage.

The refrigerator also holds memories of storing breast milk for her two children and ingredients for homemade baby food. Han Ga-in described the refrigerator as “a companion that has quietly stood by our family for a long time,” adding that she will likely feel a sense of loss when it’s time to replace it.

She also shared an experience where food in the freezer remained safe even during a power outage that lasted more than a day. Although a fire on the lower floor of the building cut power to all the home appliances, when she opened the refrigerator door, she found no signs of food spoilage or leaks, contrary to her fears. “This incident made me realize once again the superior preservation performance and insulation technology of Samsung refrigerators,” she said.

Recently, she has also shown interest in food management features powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The 2026 Samsung AI refrigerator features “AI Vision,” which recognizes labels on fresh ingredients and processed foods. Users can check the contents and expiration dates of stored food items via the refrigerator’s display or the SmartThings Food app.

It also offers “Food Note,” which analyzes weekly ingredient consumption patterns. Based on frequently used ingredients, it recommends recipes and items to purchase, reducing the burden of meal planning and grocery shopping.

Han Ga-in said, “If the refrigerator can identify leftover ingredients and recommend menus, it would likely reduce unnecessary spending and stress.” She added, “If it acts as a smart assistant that takes care of both my daily life and health without me having to worry about it, my daily routine would become much more convenient.”
