[Edaily Reporter SOYEON KIM ] LG Innotek is accelerating its efforts to recruit global talent to secure competitiveness in future businesses, such as robotics. LG Innotek is focusing on recruiting top talent in the U.S. to advance the enhancement of its core portfolio.
LG Innotek announced on the 25th that it recently held “Inno Connect,” an overseas talent recruitment event, at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Los Angeles (LA).
“Inno Connect” is a recruitment-focused event where LG Innotek invites top talent from leading U.S. universities to introduce the company’s vision and technological leadership. LG Innotek has held this event annually in the U.S. since 2024. (Photo: LG Innotek) Key executives responsible for LG Innotek’s R&D, including CTO (Senior Managing Director) Min Jong and CHO (Senior Managing Director) Lee Dong-hoon, attended this year’s event in person. In addition, approximately 30 master’s and doctoral students, as well as experienced professionals, from 16 leading U.S. universities—including Stanford University, the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Yale University, and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)—participated in the event.
The participants’ primary research fields—including physical artificial intelligence (AI) such as robotics and autonomous driving, advanced packaging (Advanced PKG), and next-generation optics—are closely tied to LG Innotek’s future growth engines. Recently, LG Innotek has been enhancing its business portfolio by prioritizing its high-growth, high-profitability physical AI and semiconductor substrate businesses.
At the event, LG Innotek researchers presented the latest technology trends and R&D status in each participant’s field of expertise, generating significant interest. An “AMA (Ask Me Anything) session” was also held, allowing participants to engage in open dialogue with senior management. The company explained its technological competitiveness, as well as its philosophy on talent development and support systems designed to foster professional growth.
Min Jong, CTO, who attended the event, stated, “LG Innotek is a global company with strong partnerships with world-class Big Tech firms, and at its core are world-class talents recognized globally.”
Meanwhile, to strengthen its global business capabilities, LG Innotek actively operates a “Global Internship” program each year for international and Korean students at universities and graduate schools both in Korea and abroad. Outstanding interns are offered full-time positions upon completion of the program.
Additionally, LG Innotek’s Vietnam subsidiary—the company’s strategic overseas production hub—has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with major local universities, such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City Polytechnic University, and operates various recruitment-linked programs, including contract degree programs, internships, and career guidance.
