According to their agency, Great M Entertainment, 82MAJOR released a teaser for the music video of “Like Fire,” the title track from their second single “HEAT,” via their official social media accounts on the 27th.
The video centers on scenes of the members, their faces bearing wounds, facing off against one another. With the appearance of a large truck engulfed in flames, the video creates an atmosphere closer to a scene from an action movie than a typical performance-focused idol music video. Combined with the repetitive, pulsating beat of “Like Fire,” the short clip effectively condenses the aggressive vibe of the new song.
What catches the eye is the connection to their previous work. The “Like Fire” music video was once again directed by Lee Soo-ho of BamBamTiger, who previously directed the music video for the title track “Sign” from their fifth mini-album. By collaborating with this director—who has worked with various artists, including BTS’s J-Hope and IU—for two consecutive projects, 82Major continues to cultivate its unique visual identity.
This goes beyond simply re-hiring the same director. Having left a strong impression with the fusion of music and visuals in “Sign,” 82Major has now taken the group’s signature raw and dynamic energy to the next level by highlighting the intuitive image of “fire.” They are building upon the strengths of their previous work to solidify their music, performance, and visuals into a cohesive group identity.
Their recent achievements also lend momentum to this comeback. “Sign” ranked 9th on Billboard’s list of “The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2026.” At the recent “2026 K-World Dream Awards,” they received the K-World Dream Best Performance Award, earning recognition for their stage presence. Having garnered attention from international music media with their previous release and won a performance award, the key question now is whether 82Major can solidify their strengths into a distinct brand.
82Major’s second single, “Hit,” will be released at 6:00 p.m. on the 1st of next month via various music streaming platforms.
