On the 31st of last month, Graphy Inc. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Megagen Implant regarding strategic cooperation and product supply and distribution. The two companies plan to finalize the specific supply terms for each product and sales plans by country before signing a formal agreement among Graphy Inc., Ray Co., Ltd., and Megagen in September.
This partnership combines the global sales infrastructure of Ray Co., Ltd.—which was acquired by Graphy Inc.—with Megagen’s overseas subsidiaries and distributor network. Megagen plans to supply Ray Co., Ltd.’s digital diagnostic equipment, including the R2 Studio Q dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) system, intraoral scanners, and facial scanners, to the global market.
Graphy Inc. plans to expand its sales channels in the digital dentistry sector by leveraging Ray Co., Ltd.’s equipment and Megagen’s overseas distribution network, with the goal of facilitating the global expansion of its own dental materials products.
First, it will supply aesthetic restorative materials for permanent crowns—which have already been developed—through Megagen’s distribution network. Subsequently, the collaboration is expected to expand to include the white-label supply of direct-print clear aligners (SMA) incorporating Graphy Inc.’s shape-memory material technology.
Accordingly, the business structure is expected to begin with the sale of Ray Co., Ltd.’s digital diagnostic equipment and then expand the supply scope to include Graphy Inc.’s prosthetic materials and clear aligners. The plan is to establish a structure that combines equipment sales with a continuous supply of materials to expand the medium- to long-term revenue base.
The two companies are also discussing the inclusion of annual minimum purchase requirements in the main contract scheduled for September. However, as they are currently at the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing stage, specific supply volumes and country-by-country sales plans will be finalized during the main contract process.
Shim Un-seop, CEO of Graphy Inc., stated, “Through this agreement, our global business expansion strategy—which we have been pursuing based on the acquisition of Ray Co., Ltd.—has entered a concrete commercialization phase.” He added, “Starting with Ray Co., Ltd.’s digital diagnostic equipment, we will expand the scope of our collaboration to include Graphy Inc.’s prosthetic materials and SMA White Label, thereby establishing a foundation for global growth that combines the strengths of all three companies.”
