With TV personality Jang Do-yeon and actor Moon Sang-min serving as hosts, leading figures from the domestic and international film industries—including this year’s promotional ambassador, Ahn Jae-hong (aka “Jimface”)—are scheduled to attend. A large number of filmmakers representing the South Korean film industry will attend this opening ceremony. Kim Jong-kwan, Kim Hong-jun, Park Chan-wook,Jang Cheol-su, Jeong Ji-young, and Ha Myeong-jung, as well as actors Kim Min, Kim Min-jae, Kim Seol-hyun, Kim Eui-sung, Dahyun, Park So-dam, Son Ho-jun, Song Joong-ki, Song Hee-jun, Shim Eun-kyung, Um Tae-gu, Yoo Hae-jin, EL, Lee Jae-joon, Jang Young-nam, Jeon Seok-ho, and Jeong Geon-ju, will walk the red carpet. Leading figures from the domestic film festival scene will also gather in Jecheon. Shin Cheol, Executive Chairman of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, and Eom Hong-gil, a representative of the Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival, will be in attendance to mark the festival’s opening. International film industry figures will also grace the opening of the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. Zhao Zhiping, this year’s recipient of the Jecheon Film Music Award, will visit Jecheon. Zhao Zhiping is a world-renowned film composer who has opened new horizons for Chinese film music, and this year’s festival will feature special screenings of four of his masterpieces: *Yellow Earth*, *Guodu*, *Raise the Red Lantern*, and *Farewell My Concubine*. Director Rafiki Fariara of the opening film, *Congo Boy*, will also be present for the festival’s opening. Director Rafiki Fariala, who is also a musician, will take the stage that day to speak directly to Korean audiences about his work and music. Other attendees include directors Ryan Booth, Yukinori Makabe, Xiao Bing, Cecilia Kang, Sophie Heldman, Ticha Kobi, and Rainer Frimmel, as well as MC Nem, Claire Schuster, and actress Yukino Kishii. Following this special opening ceremony—true to the spirit of a music film festival—the event will feature opening remarks by Co-Organizing Committee Chairs Lee Sang-cheon and Lee Jang-ho, a welcome address by Executive Committee Chair Jang Hang-jun, a stage greeting by Ahn Jae-hong of “Jimface,” the presentation of the 2026 Jecheon Film Music Awards, and introductions of the competition section jury members and the opening film. The 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, with the slogan “Fly Together,” will be held for six days from the 3rd to the 8th throughout Jecheon City. This year, the festival will engage audiences with a diverse lineup of programs spanning film and music, including 189 films from 51 countries and performances by 37 groups. Film screenings will take place at the Jecheon Cultural Theater, Jecheon Video Media Center “Bom,” and Yeopyeoncho Salon, while performance programs will be held at the Summer Plaza of the Jecheon Arts Center, in front of Jecheon Station, and in front of the Eorimji Local History Museum. The Jecheon Music Film Market will be held at the Sanchaek area of the Haso Life Culture Center and the Yeopyeoncho Lawn. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on Naver Chijijik. The Jecheon International Music Film Festival is Asia’s only music film festival. This year, it will showcase 189 films from 45 countries, offering the festival’s most diverse program lineup to date.
