[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] Kona i ( KONA I CO.,LTD.(052400)) announced on the 2nd that it is launching a service allowing users to convert NH Points into local currency for use in eight cities and counties in Gangwon Province.
With this service expansion, the NH Point to local currency conversion service operated by KONA I CO.,LTD. is now available in 45 local governments across 6 provinces and metropolitan cities nationwide. Residents in these areas can convert their NH Points into local currency and use them at participating merchants within their region. In Gangneung City, the service is available through the “Gangneung Pay” app, while the remaining seven cities and counties can use the “Geurigo” app.
KONA I CO.,LTD. is also holding a “Regional Partnership Double Chance” event in collaboration with NH Nonghyup Bank to commemorate the launch of the new service. The event covers a total of 14 local governments, including the eight cities and counties in Gangwon Province, as well as Cheonan, Cheongju, Chungju, Jincheon, Okcheon, and Eumseong.
The event runs through the 30th. Five thousand customers who convert 1,000 or more NH Points into local currency points will be selected via a random drawing to receive 3,000 NH Points. Additionally, 5,000 customers who actually spend their converted points at local currency partner stores will be selected via a random drawing to receive 2,000 won in “Regional Symbiosis Cash.”
The higher the payment amount made using the converted points, the greater the chance of winning. Notifications regarding event winners and the distribution of points and cash will be available in October via the local currency app and the NH Members Customer Center.
KONA I CO.,LTD. plans to expand the service to other local governments in the future and broaden its scope to allow not only points from banks and credit card companies but also points operated by the public sector to be converted into local currency.
Byeon Dong-hoon, CEO of KONA I CO.,LTD., stated, “With the new launch in eight cities and counties in Gangwon Province, the NH Points-to-local-currency conversion service operated by KONA I CO.,LTD. has expanded to 45 local governments across six provinces and metropolitan cities nationwide.” He added, “Through this event, which bridges the gap from point conversion to actual use at participating merchants, we will continue to expand the system that channels unused points into local consumption.”
