(Photo courtesy of Shinhan Financial Group) According to the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system on the 2nd, Capital Group announced that it purchased 115,260 shares of ShinhanFinancialGroup Co.,Ltd. stock and stock-related securities on the 26th of last month. Following this acquisition, Capital Group now holds a total of 23,568,346 shares (5.02%) of ShinhanFinancialGroup Co.,Ltd. Regarding the reason for acquiring ShinhanFinancialGroup Co.,Ltd. shares, Capital Group stated it was for “purely investment purposes.” As a result, Capital Group has become the third-largest institutional shareholder of ShinhanFinancialGroup Co.,Ltd., following the National Pension Service and BlackRock. Previously, Capital Group sold its stakes in KB Financial Group(105560)and HanaFinancialGroupInc.(086790). Between October of last year and March of this year, Capital Group sold 2,933,837 shares of HanaFinancialGroupInc. on the open market. Capital Group’s stake, which stood at 6.60% as of September 30 of last year, fell to 5.55% following the sale. During the same period, Capital Group sold 6,098,366 shares of KB Financial Group. As a result, Capital Group’s stake in KB Financial Group decreased from 8.27% to 6.82%.
