Lee Jae-seo, an analyst at Macquarie Securities, stated in a report titled “Korea Nuclear: From Narrative to Orders” “The U.S. nuclear power market is entering a substantive order cycle, not merely a policy cycle,” and analyzed that “the period from the second half of 2026 to the first half of 2027 will be a critical turning point where momentum in nuclear power investment shifts from expectations to actual orders.” The analyst noted, “The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) $17.5 billion nuclear power supply chain loan program will serve as a key link connecting the industry’s vision with actual procurement,” and assessed that “since this program can provide funding for long-lead-time equipment for up to five projects even before a Final Investment Decision (FID) is made, it has the potential to accelerate the timing of major equipment procurement by up to three years.” Accordingly, the analyst identified DOOSAN ENERBILITY, HyundaiEngineering&Construction, and KoreaElectricPower (KEPCO) as beneficiary stocks. He explained, “BHI Co., LTD. has consistently secured orders for nuclear power plant balance-of-plant (BOP) equipment from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. for domestic nuclear power projects, including Shin-Kori Units 3 and 4,” adding, “Although the BOP business currently accounts for only about 5% of total revenue, a meaningful revaluation could occur as visibility across the entire nuclear power value chain improves.”
