The company plans to expand its penetration of the Chinese battery market by leveraging its manufacturing technology for high-density, micro-cell structure polyurethane foam and its product development capabilities to meet customer-specific material property requirements. S&K POLYTEC CO., LTD. is expanding the manufacturing technology it has accumulated through the supply of high-density PU foam for electronic devices—such as smartphones and displays—into the electric vehicle battery and automotive electronics components sectors. The company plans to cultivate PU foam for batteries as a new growth engine by leveraging its local production bases in China and its capabilities for customer-tailored development. A company official stated, “As we have been actively pursuing the development of PU foam products for electric vehicle batteries, we are seeing tangible results, such as passing the internal quality verification of the world’s largest Chinese battery company and engaging in joint development with Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers.” The official added, “We will utilize our local production and customer support infrastructure in China to cultivate the battery market as a new growth pillar.”
