[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] “A Romance Other Than You,” starring actors Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin, is set to kick off KBS’s fall season with exceptional confidence.

On the afternoon of the 7th, a production press conference for the new KBS2 drama “A Love Other Than You” was held at The Saint in D-Cube City, Guro, Seoul. Director Hwang Seung-ki, Seo Kang-joon, Ahn Eun-jin, Lee Ju-an, and Jo Ah-ram attended the event.
On that day, Director Hwang explained, “It’s the story of a couple who have been together for 10 years. It explores the fundamental nature of love,” adding, “It’s a drama where viewers will truly enjoy watching the actors’ performances.”
“A Love Other Than You” is a realistic melodrama that resonates with viewers, depicting a couple in their tenth year of dating as they confront unfamiliar emotions within a relationship they thought they knew well. Seo Kang-jun and Ahn Eun-jin play Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi-do, who transition from being longtime friends to lovers, while Lee Ju-an and Jo A-ram portray Han Tae-seung and Park Su-ah, who enter their lives.
Seo Kang-joon revealed that he chose the drama because he found the script interesting, stating, “I felt that the characters’ thoughts and emotions weren’t explicitly revealed through dialogue. I thought it could be a work where the story is conveyed not through words, but through eyes, actions, and nuances.”
Ahn Eun-jin remarked, “It’s a story we can see all around us,” adding, “I thought it would be interesting because it’s a story everyone can relate to if they follow it with their hearts.”
Since Seo Kang-joon won the Grand Prize last year for MBC’s *Undercover High School*, there is a lot of interest in his new project. Seo Kang-joon admitted, “I can’t say there’s no pressure,” adding, “Rather than thinking, ‘I have to do better,’ I’ve approached every project with the same mindset. While it’s true that I should do better now that I’ve won an award, I tried to create a good work by deliberating and consulting with others just as I always have.”
When asked if he expects to win an award for this project, given that he won the Grand Prize at MBC, Seo Kang-joon replied, “While receiving an award is something to be grateful for, I feel it’s far too much for me,” adding, “I don’t get too caught up in awards.” He continued, “My mindset is to do my best,” and emphasized, “If I were to receive an award, I’d be incredibly grateful, but what’s more important is the direction our project takes.”
Since this drama is a romance, the chemistry between the male and female leads is also cited as a key point of interest. Seo Kang-joon explained, “Since we’ve been together for 10 years, I thought we should act as if we already knew everything about each other. I think those feelings came through when we looked into each other’s eyes. When I looked at Ahn Eun-jin, she had simply become Mido,” adding, “I felt that all I had to do was receive what a great actress like her gave me.”
Ahn Eun-jin explained, “People around me ask if it’s even possible to date anyone other than Seo Kang-jun, but if you look at the dialogue in the drama, you’ll understand to some extent.”
Director Hwang said he approached the production of *A Romance Other Than You* as KBS’s “ace pitcher” for the fall season, adding, “I know which dramas are airing in the same time slot, but I try not to watch them. I believe that as long as we do our best, it will be enough—and I feel the quality of our production is high.” He went on to express confidence, saying, “I think we’ll step up as the ace pitcher and take first place by a landslide.”
“A Love Other Than You” will air this coming Saturday, the 12th, at 9:20 p.m.
