On the 8th, Baek Jin-hee said on her YouTube channel “Genie Is Back,” “I wanted to share this big news with you first on YouTube, but unfortunately, it was reported in the news first, and now the day has come for me to say it myself,” adding, “I’m getting married.”
Regarding her fiancé, she explained, “Many people are curious about his profession, but he’s just an ordinary office worker,” adding, “He’s not a businessman or a financier, nor does he possess great wealth.”
She continued, “He’s an ordinary office worker who looks forward to Friday mornings the most. Even when I was in Canada, he’s the precious person who taught me the joy of small things—like wondering what to do after work on Fridays.” She added, “Since he’s not a celebrity, and our families are getting to know each other, I think we’ve been extra cautious. I don’t want to cause any harm or hurt the person who will become part of my family. I can’t share many details, so I ask for your understanding.”
Baek Jin-hee revealed, “My future husband’s English name is Henry,” adding, “Since I started acting at age 20, I haven’t had many moments of stability. It’s a profession where emotional ups and downs are inevitable, and the job itself doesn’t involve a stable work schedule. He’s someone who helps me find a middle ground—whether I’m at my highest or lowest point—so he gives me a great sense of stability.”
She added, “We naturally came to the decision to get married,” explaining, “We share similar values when it comes to looking at life. I think that’s an important aspect.”
She noted that she received many congratulations after the news of her marriage broke, saying, “I spent a day filled with gratitude thanks to everyone’s congratulations. I’ve never received this much celebration in my life before, so it really hit me that marriage is actually happening.”
He continued, “We were in a long-distance relationship, traveling back and forth between Korea and Canada. I’d fly 14 hours to see him, and he’d fly 14 hours to see me,” adding, “Long-distance wasn’t easy. There were moments when I wanted to be with him or see him, but I couldn’t. Baek Jin-hee plans to continue her acting career by traveling back and forth between Seoul and Canada even after her marriage.
