On the 11th, a representative from Lee Dong-gun’s agency, W Plus Entertainment, told E-Daily, “We wrapped up operations at the Jeju café and left back in July,” adding, “Another fashion brand is currently operating the space.”
Recently, the YouTube channel “Gangho’s Footprints TV” commented on Jeju Island, saying, “At some point, celebrities started coming here, opening cafes and contributing to significant development,” and added, “As a result, it has become a place plagued by traffic congestion.”
The host visited the cafe that Lee Dong-gun had operated and said, “It went out of business, so he left.” He explained, “The eggs hatched because of the water, and the place is swarming with bugs,” adding, “He left everything neglected.”
Last year, Lee Dong-gun renovated a house in Aewol, Jeju, to open a cafe. On the SBS show “My Ugly Duckling,” he was even shown taking out a loan of approximately 200 million won to open the cafe, and footage of the cafe in operation was later broadcast.
However, the café temporarily closed last June, and after announcing via its official social media accounts in July that it would undergo renovations, it has not reopened.
Currently, a fashion brand store has opened in that location.
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-gun is currently appearing on JTBC’s “Divorce Cooling-Off Camp.”
