[Edaily Reporter kyoungeun kim ] On the afternoon of the 15th, the KOSPI is showing a slight widening of its intraday decline as selling pressure from foreign and institutional investors intensifies. In contrast, the KOSDAQ has turned positive, showing a trend opposite to that of the KOSPI.
According to MP Doctor, as of 1:39 p.m. today, the KOSPI is trading at 6,627.73, down 56.64 points (0.85%) from the previous day.
While retail investors made net purchases of 569.1 billion won in an effort to prop up the index, foreign investors and institutions made net sales of 1.2004 trillion won and 636.0 billion won, respectively, widening the decline.

The KOSPI, which briefly narrowed its losses and rose to the 6,653 level earlier in the morning, was pushed down to the low 6,600s in the afternoon as selling pressure from foreign and institutional investors intensified. By stock, 227 are up, 44 are unchanged, and 645 are down, with declining stocks dominating the market.
SamsungElectronics(005930), the company with the largest market capitalization, traded at 247,750 won, down 1,250 won (0.50%), while SK hynix(000660), the second-largest, traded at 1,693,500 won, down 3,500 won (0.21%), both shifting to a slightly flat trend.
Among other gainers, secondary battery stocks and preferred shares were showing strength. LG Energy Solution(373220)(2.84%), SamsungElectronics(1P)(005935)(2.56%), SKSQUARE(402340)(0.20%), and SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS(207940)(0.14%) all rose.
On the other hand, KB Financial Group(105560)(-2.81%), SamsungElectroMechanics(009150)(-1.27%), and HyundaiMotor(005380)(-0.81%) fell, while Samsung Life Insurance(032830)(-4.03%) posted the largest decline among the top-market-cap stocks.
The KOSDAQ is moving in a different direction from the KOSPI. The KOSDAQ is currently at 813.87, up 7.08 points (0.88%) from the previous day.
While retail investors and foreign investors posted net sales of 114.6 billion won and 500 million won, respectively, institutions drove the index higher with net purchases of 111.1 billion won. With 779 stocks rising—nearly matching the 869 that fell—the market continues to show solid momentum, led by secondary battery and biotech stocks.
On the KOSDAQ, EO Technics Co., Ltd.(039030)(5.26%), Rainbow Robotics(277810)(2.73%), ECOPRO BM CO., LTD.(247540)(2.60%), ECOPRO CO., LTD(086520)(1.96%), Alteogen Inc.(196170)(0.58%), SIMMTECH Co., Ltd.(222800)(0.40%), LEENO Industrial Inc(058470)(0.31%), and ROBOTIS(108490)(0.15%) all rose in unison.
In contrast, semiconductor equipment stocks— JUSUNG ENGINEERING Co.,Ltd.(036930)(5.92%)—plummeted, and WONIK IPS Co.,Ltd.(240810)(1.63%) also fell, performing poorly.
