Distributor K-Movie Entertainment announced on the 17th that the film “Day and Night Belong to Each Other” is set to be released this November.
“Day and Night Belong to Each Other” is a lighthearted and charming film depicting the conversations between day and night as they pass through a café over the course of a single season. Directed by Kim Jong-kwan, known for films such as “The Worst Day,” “The Table,” and “Jose,” it was selected as the opening film for the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
It is also generating anticipation with a lineup of eight trusted actors: Kim Min-ha and Joo Jong-hyuk, Han Sun-hwa and Jang Ryul, Shim Eun-kyung and Lee Hee-joon, and Jeon So-young and Kim Dong-hwi.
The teaser poster, released alongside the news of the film’s November premiere, features the four couples. The sight of them facing each other amid the English typography reading “DAY AND NIGHT” catches the eye.

Yoo-jin (Kim Min-ha) and Hyun-oh (Joo Jong-hyuk) stand far apart, gazing in different directions; Sang-mi (Han Sun-hwa) cups the cheek of a flustered Young-min (Jang Ryul); Hye-jin (Shim Eun-kyung), who listens to Dong-nam (Lee Hee-joon) with an uneasy expression, and Na-kyung (Jeon So-young) and Jong-su (Kim Dong-hwi), sitting across from each other while keeping their distance—these eight characters spark curiosity about the stories they each carry as they gather at the café.
The teaser trailer, released alongside the poster, captivates viewers with its beautiful cinematography and lyrical atmosphere. Set within the single space of a café, the characters spend time there from summer through fall, day and night; their expressions—sometimes flowing, sometimes overlapping—depict a range of emotions associated with love, including excitement, surprise, curiosity, and hesitation.
Interest is focused on the stories of four couples: Eugene and Hyun-oh, whose connection stretches dreamlike across day and night; Sang-mi and Young-min, who experience a thrilling and mysterious reunion; Hye-jin and Dong-nam, who share a fiery and intense first encounter; and Na-kyung and Jong-su, who navigate a bittersweet and poignant final moment.
The 31st Busan International Film Festival, which will open with *Day and Night Are for Each Other*, will be held from October 6 to October 15 at the Busan Cinema Center and throughout Busan.
