[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] Perry (54), the key producer who shaped YG Entertainment’s early musical style, has resurfaced. This comes as SBS’s “I Want to Know That” has begun gathering tips directly regarding his whereabouts, as he has been virtually out of the public eye since 2010.

Perry played a key role in establishing YG’s musical identity long before the agency became the major entertainment powerhouse it is today. Starting with Jinusean, he contributed to the music of various artists, including 1TYM, Lexy, Seven, and Whiseong, and is known to have been credited on some of Big Bang’s early tracks. In 2001, he also released his own solo album and pursued a career as a singer.
The problem began afterward. Around 2010, Perry’s public activities effectively ceased. The only information that remains is that he was last spotted in Los Angeles, USA; since then, no official updates on his whereabouts or activities have been reported. As it became known that not only his colleagues in the music industry but also his family were unaware of his whereabouts, rumors of his “disappearance” have persisted for a long time.
There are also indications that his family personally attempted to locate him. In 2021, an internet user who identified themselves as Perry’s nephew posted online stating that his family was still searching for him and had filed a missing person report with the U.S. State Department.
Interest in Perry’s whereabouts, which had remained a mystery for so long, was reignited when the TV program “That’s What I Want to Know” stepped in. On the 17th, the production team announced via its official channel that it is accepting tips from anyone who knows of Perry’s current whereabouts or is in contact with his family.
