[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] UNI CHEM.CO.,LTD(011330)announced on the 21st that it has begun mass production of leather seat materials to be used in HyundaiMotor Company’s all-new global compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) model.

UNI CHEM.CO.,LTD plans to sequentially launch mass production programs for a total of three new vehicle models in the second half of this year, including the aforementioned SUV. The company expects that actual production and supply volumes will begin to contribute to revenue starting in the second half, following the development of new models and preparations for mass production in the first half.

In particular, as the three new models will enter mass production at different times, the company forecasts that production volumes and revenue contributions will expand sequentially as production for each model stabilizes. It also anticipates improvements in plant operational efficiency and product mix.

Among these, one model is HyundaiMotor’s fifth-generation, completely redesigned compact SUV, unveiled six years after the launch of the fourth generation in 2020. According to the company, this model has surpassed 10 million in cumulative global sales since its initial launch in 2004 and is scheduled to be rolled out sequentially to global markets, starting with South Korea and followed by Europe.

UNI CHEM.CO.,LTD plans to focus on initial mass-production quality and on-time delivery in line with the vehicle launch and production schedules. In accordance with confidentiality agreements with its clients and supply chain policies, the company did not disclose specific model names, supply timelines, trim levels, supply volumes, or unit prices.

UNI CHEM.CO.,LTD stated, “While the first half of this year was a phase of preparing for the development and mass production of new vehicle models, the second half marks a turning point as three models will enter actual mass production one after another,” adding, “We expect production volume and revenue contribution to expand gradually as multiple new programs are launched sequentially.”

The official continued, “Our top priority is to ensure stable quality in the early stages of mass production and to respond seamlessly to our clients’ production schedules,” adding, “Through the mass production of these three new models in the second half of the year, we will simultaneously strengthen the recovery of our automotive interior materials business’s performance and lay a foundation for stable growth.”
