[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] JYP Entertainment and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) Park Jin-young announced on the 23rd that they have donated a total of 550 million won to fund medical treatment for vulnerable children in Mexico. This initiative is significant because it goes beyond a one-time donation; by expanding the children’s medical support project—which has been ongoing since 2020—to Central and South America, the company has broadened the scope of its social contribution efforts.

As part of its social contribution initiative “EDM” (Every Dream Matters!), JYP has partnered with World Vision Mexico and World Vision Korea to provide specialized medical care to sick children in Mexico. JYP is contributing 450 million won, and Park Jin-young is adding 100 million won from his personal funds, for a total of 550 million won (7.5 million pesos).
The program targets children and adolescents requiring specialized treatment in fields such as ophthalmology, pediatric respiratory medicine, cardiology, neurology, epilepsy, orthopedics, rare diseases, pediatric hematology/oncology, and nephrology/urology. Through partner hospitals, the initiative will provide support for treatment, surgery, medical devices, and cancer therapy.
Park Jin-young recently met in person with local officials from World Vision Mexico, World Vision Korea, and the Mexican Association for the Prevention of Blindness (APEC) hospital to discuss collaboration plans. He stated, “Since my success is thanks to the love my fans have shown me, I believe it is my duty to give back that love,” adding, “I want to help more children who are unable to fulfill their dreams due to health issues.”
JYP’s medical support efforts have evolved into a long-term project. Through the EDM medical expense support program launched in 2020, the company has provided approximately 10.01 billion won to 10 regions, including South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Bangladesh, and Brazil, helping 4,489 pediatric patients to date. Park Jin-young has also been making separate personal donations, contributing 1 billion won annually from his own funds since 2022.
This support for Mexico is particularly noteworthy because it demonstrates how the global fandom and cultural exchange fostered by K-pop have expanded into social contributions in the fields of healthcare and welfare. JYP plans to continue providing medical expense support to children with illnesses overseas in the future.
