[Edaily Reporter Son Eui-Yeon ] The Korean drama "God's Quiz," starring Ryu Deok-hwan, is being remade in Japan and will premiere soon.

Amazon Prime Video Japan announced on the 25th via its official social media channels that the Japanese version of “God’s Quiz” will premiere on December 4.

The original “God’s Quiz,” Korea’s first medical mystery drama, aired on OCN from 2010 to 2019 over a total of five seasons.

The Japanese version tells the story of a man once called “a genius chosen by God” who gives up his career as a surgeon to start anew as a medical examiner, uncovering the truths behind mysterious deaths.

The lead role is played by Shōtarō Mamiya, who gained recognition through the dramas “Number MG5” and “Cinderella in Midsummer” as well as the films “Tokyo Revengers” and “The Strange House.”

Through Amazon Prime Video Japan’s social media, Shōtarō Mamiya said, “When I was in my early 20s, my manager told me, ‘I’d like you to take on this role,’ so I looked up the original Korean drama,” adding, “I’d be grateful if you enjoy watching it. I’m also looking forward to seeing how the series turned out.”

The series is directed by Shunki Hashizume, who previously directed the Netflix Japan series *Soulmate*, starring Ok Taec-yeon.
