[Edaily Reporter Choi Oh-hyun ] LGELECTRONICS has joined NVIDIA’s official partner program, accelerating its push into the global artificial intelligence (AI) data center cooling market. The company’s strategy is to expand business opportunities in the liquid cooling market, which has emerged as a core infrastructure for data centers as high-performance AI semiconductors generate increasing amounts of heat.

On the 27th, LGELECTRONICS announced that it has been officially listed as a “Power and Cooling” partner in the “NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN),” NVIDIA’s official partner program. NPN is a global partner program that brings together companies in the hardware, software, services, and infrastructure sectors based on NVIDIA’s AI computing platform and technology ecosystem.

Through the NPN, NVIDIA connects customers with the partners and solutions needed to build AI data centers and AI factories. Partner companies can expand their reach to global customers by leveraging technical collaboration, sales opportunities, and marketing support within the NVIDIA ecosystem. An AI factory is a highly advanced data center, and NVIDIA is building a unified ecosystem that encompasses the entire design and operation of AI factories.

With this partner selection, LGELECTRONICS has expanded its opportunities to supply cooling solutions to global customers building AI data centers based on NVIDIA technology. It is also increasingly likely that LGELECTRONICS’ chillers and cooling water distribution units (CDUs) will be considered from the planning and design stages of data centers.

LGELECTRONICS was previously the first Korean company to meet NVIDIA’s certification requirements for 600-kilowatt (kW) and 1-megawatt (MW) class CDUs. Recently, its high-capacity 2.6-megawatt (MW) CDU also received AI Factory certification, earning recognition as a “DSX-Ready CDU” product from NVIDIA. DSX-Ready is a program that verifies whether products and solutions applied to NVIDIA’s “AI Factory Platform” meet the relevant requirements.

Based on this achievement, the company plans to actively target the large-scale AI data center market, with a focus on North America. In particular, it will target hyperscalers—massive cloud service providers—and colocation providers, which lease data center space and equipment, as key customers. LGELECTRONICS estimates that more than 60% of global demand for new data center expansion is concentrated in North America.

LGELECTRONICS entered the data center cooling market in 2011 and has since expanded its business, focusing primarily on large-scale air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. With the heat output of AI server chips increasing rapidly in recent years, the company is broadening its business scope to include liquid cooling solutions that cool chips directly with cooling water.

The company now offers a “Chip-to-Chiller” product lineup that encompasses everything from chillers that generate cooling water to CDUs that precisely deliver the cooling water to servers, and cold plates that directly absorb heat from semiconductor chips. It has also secured dual power supply redundancy and precision temperature control technology with an accuracy of ±0.25 degrees.
