[E-Daily Shin Ha-yeon Reporter] KONA I CO.,LTD.(052400)will supply the “Konabiz” meal voucher cards—part of its corporate welfare platform—to Huons Co., Ltd. This will replace existing mobile meal vouchers, expanding the range of restaurants available to employees, and the program is scheduled to be expanded to include welfare cards starting this December.
KONA I CO.,LTD. announced that eight affiliates of the Huons Group—including Huons, Huons Global Co., Ltd., and Humedix Co., Ltd.—will begin using KonaBiz meal voucher cards starting on the 1st. The existing mobile meal vouchers will be fully replaced with these cards to support employee meal expenses. (Photo courtesy of KONA I CO.,LTD.) A key feature of the Konabiz meal card is that it uses the same payment network as standard credit and debit cards. While existing mobile meal vouchers could only be used at restaurants with which the company had pre-established partnerships, the meal card can be used at any restaurant equipped with a card payment terminal without the need for a separate partnership.
The payment process has also been streamlined. Payments are processed by either using the physical card or tapping a card registered for mobile payment on the terminal. Restaurants can process these transactions just like regular card payments without any additional steps.
Companies can set card usage conditions in accordance with their internal welfare policies. Konabiz has adopted a pre-control system that applies company regulations before payment approval. The company explains that by restricting payments to designated time slots—such as weekday lunches or overtime hours—and specific business types—such as restaurants and cafes—the administrative workload associated with meal expense reimbursement can be reduced.
Huons Co., Ltd. plans to expand the use of Konabiz as a welfare card starting this December. Konabiz utilizes a payment network of approximately 3.1 million merchant locations nationwide. It allows companies to manage everything with a single card by setting different eligible regions and business types for each support category, such as meal allowances and welfare points.
Cho Jung-il, Chairman of KONA I CO.,LTD., stated, “The essence of payment technology lies not in transferring money, but in designing the principles by which money is spent.” He added, “Employees spend freely, while companies manage accurately. KonaBiz’s competitive edge lies in simultaneously resolving these two challenges—which corporate welfare programs had previously been unable to address—at the stage prior to payment.” He further noted, “We will establish KonaBiz as the new standard infrastructure for corporate welfare.”
