[Edaily Reporter KIM EUNG-YEOL ] North Korea launched a ballistic missile toward the East Sea on the morning of the 3rd. This marks the first ballistic missile launch in 13 days since the 20th of last month.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that day, “We detected one ballistic missile launched toward the East Sea from the Wonsan area in North Korea at around 6:30 a.m.”
According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the detected North Korean missile flew more than 700 km. South Korean and U.S. intelligence agencies are conducting a detailed analysis of the missile’s exact specifications. South Korean and U.S. intelligence agencies have been tracking related developments and sharing information since the launch began.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, “Under the robust South Korea-U.S. combined defense posture, our military is closely monitoring North Korea’s various activities,” adding, “We are maintaining the capability and readiness to respond overwhelmingly to any provocation.”
