[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Actor Lee Seo-jin offered heartfelt advice to the girl group Lisenne, who appeared on the SBS show “I’ll Do Anything for You, Genie – Secretary Jin.”
On the episode of the SBS Friday variety show “I’ll Do Anything for You, Genie – Secretary Jin” that aired on the 2nd, Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu served as one-day managers for Lisenne (Won-i, Minami, Liv, May, and Jenna), whose average age is 20.6. Although Lisenne is currently enjoying a surge in popularity—receiving as many as 100 booking calls a day and filling their weekly schedule with 40 events—the path to their current success was far from easy. Won-i shared, “There’s a story behind this: we’re a small agency. We started with nothing, and our CEO handpicked each member one by one,” adding, “We thought it was a given that we’d perform on stage once we debuted. But even after our debut, we didn’t have the chance to perform on stage. We released a song but couldn’t even appear on music shows,” she revealed. Afterward, they didn’t turn down even small events, performing at elementary school sports days and on stages in front of community centers. As their YouTube content and the song “Yaho” garnered a huge response, Lisenne also gained fame. To Lisenne, who mentioned she hadn’t received her royalties yet, Lee Seo-jin offered some practical advice: “When you do get your royalties, you need to save your money carefully,” adding, “If you make a mistake investing in stocks or something like that, you’ll go broke.” He went on to emphasize, “You don’t even need to know anything about stocks. Even if you get your royalties, don’t waste them on frivolous things—be frugal and save.” When Won-i asked, “Is money really everything?” Lee Seo-jin flatly replied, “Money is everything,” drawing laughter. He also offered practical advice, warning her to be wary of scammers, lease scams, and official seals after receiving her first paycheck. Toward the end of the broadcast, a surprise “Gold Button” event was held to celebrate Won-i’s YouTube channel reaching 1 million subscribers. Risenne was moved when she discovered the gold button—which Secretary Jin had disguised as a ramen pot stand—during a prank camera segment. After the day’s filming, Kim Gwang-kyu cheered on Risenne, saying, “They say you should row when the tide is in. But I realized these guys were literally rowing nonstop. The tide came in just at the right moment.” SBS’s “I’ll Do Anything for You—The Secretaries” is a program in which Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu become professional personal assistants, closely accompanying a star throughout their day in place of their manager to provide care and engage in conversation. Season 2 is designed to go beyond the traditional role of a manager, taking responsibility for even the star’s most private and personal matters. Anticipation is building as Seo Jang-hoon’s appearance has been teased for the next episode. “The Secretaries” airs every Friday at 11:10 p.m.
