[Edaily Reporter KIM SUNG-JIN ] Alteogen Inc.(196170)is securing an investment of 200 billion won from the National Growth Fund and SkyLake. Alteogen Inc. plans to use these funds to construct new production facilities and introduce new products and technologies to secure future growth engines.
On the 6th, Alteogen Inc. announced that it will issue a total of 200 billion won in preferred stock to SkyAlt, a company established through a joint venture between the National Growth Fund and SkyLake, which will act as the acquirer. The National Growth Fund is a policy-driven fund established to provide long-term capital to high-tech strategic industries and future growth industries. This investment will be secured through the issuance of 100 billion won in convertible preferred stock (CPS) and 100 billion won in redeemable convertible preferred stock (RCPS). The issue price for the RCPS was set at a premium of 10.3% over the par value.
Through this investment, Alteogen Inc. plans to expand its production capacity based on the current business performance of ALT-B4, while also securing new pipeline candidates to diversify its business portfolio. ALT-B4 is the core compound of Alteogen Inc.’s Hybrozyme platform for subcutaneous injection formulation modification. Based on this, the company has successfully signed licensing agreements with 10 global pharmaceutical companies, including MSD, AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Novartis, and GSK.
MSD’s subcutaneous formulation of Keytruda, which incorporates ALT-B4, has been approved and launched in the U.S., Europe, Canada, South Korea, and Japan. As commercialization expands, Alteogen Inc. expects to continue generating sales milestones and royalty revenue in the future.
To leverage the success of these existing businesses as new growth engines, Alteogen Inc. plans to use the investment funds to actively introduce new products and technologies with high growth potential and build a business portfolio that can enhance the company’s value over the medium to long term.
Jeon Tae-yeon, CEO of Alteogen Inc., stated, “We will leverage the investment from the National Growth Fund to rapidly secure products and technologies with high growth potential and expand our future business foundation.” He added, “As the global commercialization of ALT-B4 expands, our goal is to actively secure new products and technologies to establish future growth engines early on and continuously increase our corporate value.”
SkyLake Equity Partners, a major domestic private equity firm, participated in this investment. SkyLake is a leading domestic private equity firm with approximately 3.5 trillion won in assets under management and a track record of investing in high-tech industries and growth companies. In 2026, it was selected as a general partner (GP) for the National Growth Fund’s Large-Scale League and secured approximately 200 billion won in policy funds.
Min Hyun-ki, CEO of SkyLake, said, “Alteogen Inc. is leading the domestic biotech industry based on its differentiated technological capabilities in the field of biopharmaceutical R&D,” adding, “We particularly commend the company for expanding its business in the global market based on ALT-B4 and establishing a competitive business model capable of sustained growth.” Alteogen Inc. headquarters and research institute.
