In a video posted on the 16th to her YouTube channel “My Love Ryu Yi-seo,” Ryu Yi-seo revealed that she had successfully conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF) but suffered a miscarriage at seven weeks of pregnancy. The video shows Ryu Yi-seo and her husband, Jeon Jin, celebrating after confirming her pregnancy following the embryo transfer. However, during a subsequent obstetric checkup, she was diagnosed with fetal growth restriction, and she suffered a miscarriage three days later. Ryu Yi-seo shared her feelings, saying, “It’s so disappointing that it ended in a miscarriage. Since I hadn’t completely ruled out that possibility when I first became pregnant, I think that made the pain a little less intense.” She added, “Still, it was a happy time for both of us, and I’m truly grateful to the baby who came to us, even if only for a short while.” She also explained why she decided to go public with the miscarriage. Ryu Yi-seo said, “I learned a lot and found comfort by watching YouTube videos myself. I wanted to share my preparation process to provide information and offer comfort to others.” Ryu Yi-seo shed tears as she said, “My husband also went through a lot of emotional distress. I’m truly grateful to him.” Finally, she expressed her intention to prepare for pregnancy again, stating, “It will take a little time, but I plan to undergo egg retrieval again in the future.” Jeon Jin and Ryu Yi-seo were married in 2020. The couple announced last April that they were preparing for pregnancy through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
