This news came to light that day when the Jirisan School of Culture and Arts, where Kim Mi-hwa serves as an advisor, released an obituary.
In the obituary, Kim Mi-hwa stated, “My beloved mother, Mrs. Kim Young-ja, passed away at 1:53 a.m. on the 23rd, having completed her journey on this earth.”
She added, “Please pray that she may cast aside all her past suffering and loneliness and go to a better place.”
The funeral will be a private family service. Kim Mi-hwa stated, “We respectfully decline condolence visits, monetary donations, and floral tributes; we ask for your understanding.”
Kim Mi-hwa debuted in 1984 as a comedian through KBS’s open recruitment and gained popularity through the segment “Three-Rang Couple” on KBS 2TV’s “Show Video Jockey.” She subsequently appeared on various programs such as “The Little Rascals,” “Experience the Real World,” and “Gag Concert,” and currently serves as the host of the OBS talk show “Kim Mi-hwa’s Best Friend.”
