According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network, “A Flowing Journey” made a promising start by topping the box office for Korean independent and art films released this week as of the 28th, its opening day.

Furthermore, as of 9:00 a.m. on the 29th, it recorded a 99% rating on the CGV Golden Egg Index—a metric based on actual audience ratings—and a 9.7 rating from Naver users, demonstrating high audience satisfaction.

“Flowing Journey” tells the story of “Chun-hee,” who, after losing her husband, was preparing for a journey of her own when she encounters unexpected connections in her new apartment, causing a new melody to begin flowing through her once-quiet daily life.

Acclaimed by both audiences and critics, “A Flowing Journey” is the second feature film from director Kim Jin-yu—director of “I Am Barley”—marking his return to the big screen after a six-year hiatus. Through “A Flowing Journey,” Director Kim offers a warm portrayal of death—which comes to us all—the meaning of life rediscovered in the face of it, and the bonds formed when people make room for one another.

Kim Hye-ok takes on a leading role in a film for the first time in 16 years, since the 2010 release of *The Six-Shooter Gang*. It also marks the first appearance in a Korean film for Korean-American actor Justin Min, known for *After Yang* and *The Umbrella Academy*.

“A Flowing Journey,” which opened on the 28th, is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
