Daewoo E&C to Build… Hotel Shilla to Participate in Management
[Edaily Marketin KIM SUNG-SOO Reporter] JR Investment Management has opened the five-star hotel “Shilla Monogram Hanoi Westlake” in Hanoi, Vietnam. The opening coincided with K-pop group Big Bang’s first official concert in Vietnam, held in Hanoi to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut.
This hotel development project represents the successful convergence of South Korea’s financial, construction, and hospitality expertise in Vietnam. Following this project, JR Investment Management plans to continuously identify new investment opportunities—including office buildings, data centers, and hotels—in major Vietnamese cities to strengthen its position as a specialized asset manager in Vietnam.
Hanoi Star Lake City “5-Star Hotel” Opens
According to the financial investment industry on the 29th, JR Investment Management officially opened the “Shilla Monogram Hanoi Westlake,” a 5-star hotel within the “B3CC1 Mixed-Use Development Project” in Hanoi, Vietnam, on the 23rd.
The hotel opened ahead of the two-day concert held by the group Big Bang at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on the 24th and 25th—their first official concert in Vietnam in 20 years since their debut.

JR Investment Management invested in the project through a real estate fund and is spearheading its development via its local Vietnamese subsidiary.
Star Lake New Town (officially known as Star Lake City), where the B3CC1 mixed-use development project is located, is a massive new residential, commercial, and administrative complex currently being built by Daewoo E&C in the area northwest of West Lake in Hanoi, Vietnam. Locally, it is referred to as the “Gangnam of Hanoi” and is regarded as a key affluent neighborhood.
Star Lake City is strategically located between downtown Hanoi and Noi Bai International Airport and is an emerging administrative and business hub where the relocation of government agencies and the construction of diplomatic facilities are planned. It is home to a Samsung Electronics research and development (R&D) center, and Korean companies—including CJ—as well as local Vietnamese firms are participating in investment and development within the area.
The area boasts excellent accessibility via major arterial roads, and the surrounding business and commercial infrastructure is currently being expanded. Demand from domestic and international companies, as well as business visitors, is expected to grow in the future.
JR Investment Management has focused on these locational advantages and the growth potential of northern Vietnam’s economic region, pursuing a mixed-use development approach that combines hotels, serviced residences, offices, and retail spaces.
“Serviced residences” refer to a type of accommodation that combines the convenience of a hotel with the residential functions of an apartment. As long-term accommodation facilities equipped with residential amenities such as cooking and laundry facilities, they are receiving a steady stream of inquiries primarily from expatriate employees of companies operating in the area and long-term business travelers.

The hotel is designed to cater not only to tourists but also to corporate travelers and the demand for international business events.
This mixed-use development consists of two 35-story towers. One tower is “IFC Hanoi,” which features approximately 60,000 square meters of prime office space and retail facilities on the lower floors. The other tower comprises a hotel and serviced residences.
By combining office, lodging, residential, and commercial functions in one location, the complex is capable of meeting a wide range of business and lifestyle needs.
The same building as the hotel also houses “La Résidence,” a serviced residence with 190 units. Comprising two- and three-bedroom units, it can accommodate a wide range of housing needs, from single or two-person households to families of three or four.

JR Investment Management has overseen the entire project, from establishing the initial development plan to securing financing, managing design and construction, and selecting the management operator.
Furthermore, with Daewoo E&C handling construction and Hotel Shilla managing the hotel and serviced residences, the project was completed as an overseas mixed-use development that combines the capabilities of Korean financial, construction, and hotel companies.
With the opening of this hotel, JR Investment Management plans to focus on the operation and asset management of the B3CC1 mixed-use development. The company aims to enhance the complex’s competitiveness and asset value by stabilizing the hotel’s managed operations and the serviced residences, as well as by boosting office leasing and retail activity.
Furthermore, JR Investment Management intends to continuously identify new investment opportunities—such as office, data center, and hotel projects—in major Vietnamese cities to strengthen its position as a Vietnam-specialized asset manager.
A representative from JR Investment Management emphasized, “With the opening of the Shilla Monogram Hotel, we will develop the B3CC1 mixed-use development project into a landmark representing Hanoi and a strategic hub for Korean companies in Vietnam,” adding, “We will continue to expand our local operations based on the experience and expertise we have accumulated in the Vietnamese market.”
