“Min-jae of Tomorrow” tells the story of Min-jae, a track and field athlete whose only possession is his passion for running, as he embarks on a race of hope toward tomorrow to escape a reality that began to unravel due to a single wrong choice.
Actress Lee Re takes on the role of “Min-jae,” a promising track athlete whose life is thrown into turmoil by a single wrong choice, delivering a nuanced emotional performance. Geum Hae-na plays “Ji-soo,” a track coach who holds “Min-jae’s” weakness over her head and proposes a secret deal, convincingly portraying a character who lives by compromising with reality.
Noh Jae-won plays “Yoon-ho,” an instructor at a sports prep academy who offers a small dose of courage to “Min-jae,” who is on the brink of collapse. Additionally, Kim Se-won, a rising star in the independent film scene, joins the cast as “Hye-rim,” “Min-jae’s” rival, promising to showcase the youngest and most beautiful ensemble of 2026.
Director Park Yong-jae, who helms the film, won the Audience Award at the Mise-en-Scène Short Film Festival for his short film *The End of Summer* and took home the Grand Prize at the Unica Korea International Film Festival for *Saber*.
Director Park’s feature debut, *Min-jae of Tomorrow*, garnered attention from the script stage after winning the Grand Prize at the Korean Film Council’s Korean Film Screenplay Contest. It also received recognition for its artistic merit by being invited to the “Future of Asia” section at the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival and the “Festival Choice” feature film section at the 51st Seoul Independent Film Festival.
The teaser poster, released on the 29th, captures the gaze of “Min-jae” (Lee Re) as she looks off into the distance against a backdrop of a crisp blue sky and fluffy clouds, rendered in a stylish illustrative style that immediately catches the eye.
Min-jae’s expression—a mix of longing, anxiety, and hope—along with the tagline, “Is it wrong to have a dream?” sparks curiosity about what kind of reality Min-jae, who has nothing but running, will face in the future.
