Distributor NEW announced on the 2nd, “Director Kang Hyung-chul’s new film ‘If I’m With You’ has finalized the casting of Son Seok-gu and Park Bo-young and began full-scale filming on the 31st of last month.”

“If I’m With You” is a fantasy romantic comedy about a mysterious couple who cannot face the next day without a single kiss each day. After an unexpected separation during a cruise, they set out in search of the most heartfelt kiss of their lives. The film is generating high anticipation as it marks the first romantic comedy collaboration between Park Bo-young and Son Seok-gu.

Director Kang Hyung-chul, who has consistently captivated audiences of all ages with a diverse range of films—including *Speeding Scandal*, *Sunny*, *Tazza: The Hand of God*, *Swing Kids*, and *High Five*—is making his directorial debut in the romance genre with his new film, *If I’m With You*.

In this film, Director Kang plans to unfold a fresh narrative that expands beyond the romantic comedy genre into adventure, based on the unique themes of “kisses” and “time loops.”

Son Seok-gu takes on the role of “Ji-kyung,” a devoted husband who adores his wife Oh-sung (played by Park Bo-young), with whom he fell in love at first sight. Son Seok-gu, who has garnered attention for his signature realistic acting style, captures the attention of prospective audiences with his portrayal of a heartwarming character who, after being unexpectedly separated from his wife during a cruise and left alone in a foreign land, struggles to return to her side.

Park Bo-young plays “Oh Seong,” a lovable and energetic wife who, left alone on the cruise ship, does everything in her power to reunite with her husband. Notably, this film marks Park Bo-young’s first collaboration in 18 years with director Kang Hyung-chul, who directed *Speeding Scandal*, the film that earned her the nickname “the nation’s little sister.”

Filming for this project will take place not only in Korea but also at various on-location sites in Singapore, Thailand, and other countries. Set against the backdrop of a massive cruise ship and exotic landscapes, the film’s colorful mise-en-scène and spectacular narrative will unfold rhythmically, promising a cinematic experience that satisfies all five senses.

Director Kang Hyung-chul shared his thoughts, saying, “As time goes by, each film feels more precious to me. I cherish today’s first day of filming and will do my best to bring a pleasant and joyful experience to the audience.”

Artwork for the *If I’m With You* screenplay book, created in collaboration with illustrator Hai Su—who boasts a devoted fan base thanks to her unique artistic style—was also unveiled. This artwork captures the two protagonists, who struggle with their own personal stories before finally meeting and sharing a passionate kiss, depicted in a series of sequential movements that add wit and vitality to the scene.

Artist Hai Su expressed her anticipation for the film, saying, “When I first read the screenplay, I felt a lighthearted and rhythmic flow, as if I were listening to exciting music, which made the entire creative process a joy,” adding, “I believe this film will leave vivid, memorable scenes in the hearts of many viewers.”

NEW’s highly anticipated film *If I’m With You* is scheduled to begin post-production and other production tasks to ensure a solid foundation before its release, following its October start of filming.
