Twice the amount of the existing policy
Special Dividend Income from Kioxia Investment Also Returned 100% to Shareholders
Detailed Procedures to Be Established Following Finalization of Financial Statements for Fiscal Year 2026
[E-Daily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] SKSQUARE(402340)will return at least 4.3 trillion won of SK hynix’s dividend income to shareholders. The company has decided to allocate a significant portion of the more than 6.2 trillion won in dividend income—expected to be secured through cash dividends from SK hynix(000660)—toward shareholder returns.
SKSQUARE announced its shareholder return plan containing these details on the 2nd. The plan states that the company will return at least 60% of its ordinary dividend income to shareholders by 2028 and will also return the full amount of special dividend income related to SK hynix’s investment in Kioxia.
SKSQUARE projected that SK hynix would secure more than 30 trillion won as a source of cash dividends in 2026. Based on this, SKSQUARE estimated that it would secure more than 6.2 trillion won in dividend income. Of this amount, the company plans to return at least 4.3 trillion won to shareholders, comprising more than 60% of its ordinary dividend income and the full amount of the special dividend income related to Kioxia.
This plan represents an expansion in scale compared to the existing shareholder return policy. While SKSQUARE had previously committed to returning at least 30% of its ordinary dividend income from 2026 to 2028, along with a portion of investment returns, to shareholders, it has now raised the return ratio for ordinary dividend income to at least 60%. It has also decided to return 100% of the special dividend income related to the Kioxia investment.
Earlier this year, SKSQUARE converted 5.89 trillion won from its capital reserve into retained earnings. This measure was taken to secure funds for shareholder returns and lay the groundwork for implementing capital policies, such as dividends.
SKSQUARE stated that the details of this plan will be finalized following the relevant procedures after the financial statements for the 2026 fiscal year are finalized. The company added that it will proceed cautiously with new investments in accordance with the principle of reasonable capital allocation.
