[Edaily Reporter Gim Ga Yeong ] It’s truly “Kim Tae-woong fever.” Park Jin-young, the male lead in tvN’s Friday-Saturday drama “100 Days of Lies,” is gaining popularity by bringing depth and nuance to his character.

According to data released by Good Data Corporation’s Fundex on the 3rd, Park Jin-young ranked first in the TV and OTT cast member buzz category for the fifth week of October. Kim Yoo-jung took second place, and Kim Ji-won came in third.
Park Jin-young had previously ranked third in the survey for the fourth week of October, trailing Kim Ji-won and Kim Yoo-jung. However, his rise to first place in just one week demonstrates the overwhelming positive response he has received.
Park Jin-young is currently starring as Sato Hideo (played by Kim Tae-woong), the adopted son of Sato Shinichi (played by Jin Seon-kyu), the Chief of Political Affairs at the Japanese Government-General of Korea, in the 100-day espionage romance *100 Days of Lies*. The drama follows the story of Gyeongseong’s top pickpocket, who has become a spy, and an elite interpreter for the Japanese Government-General of Korea as they meet in the heart of the enemy’s territory.
Park Jin-young is enhancing the drama’s appeal by authentically portraying his character’s journey from initially being wary of Lee Ga-kyung (played by Kim Yoo-jung)—whom he first met as a pickpocket—to gradually falling for her. In particular, a scene from the previous episode where he cautiously reveals his true identity to Lee Ga-kyung, who asks for his Korean name, by saying, “My name is Kim Tae-woong. “That’s my Korean name,”—a scene in which he cautiously reveals his true identity—became a hot topic. He further heightened the drama’s immersion by subsequently portraying his anger upon learning of his father, Shinichi Sato’s, past atrocities. Curiosity is mounting over what kind of character Kim Tae-woong—who is gradually coming to terms with his identity as a Korean—will become and how he will evolve.
From “Yumi’s Cells 2” and “Unknown Seoul” to “100 Days of Lies,” Park Jin-young’s performances—which have moved viewers with his deep, expressive gaze and emotional acting in every project—are garnering attention alongside the drama’s popularity.
Meanwhile, “100 Days of Lies” ranked first in TV and OTT buzz for the fifth week of October, following its top spot in the fourth week. “Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia” took second place, and Netflix’s “Sweet Part-Time Job” came in third.
