[Edaily Reporter Kim Kyung-eun] NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang returned to South Korea for the first time in seven months and identified the Korean robotics industry as a key next-generation sector, drawing attention to related stocks such as #DoosanRobotics and #LGElectronics. While profit-taking is occurring in the securities market, the prevailing view is that this development should be seen as a medium- to long-term catalyst.[Edaily Reporter Bang In-kwon] Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, delivers a speech at the "NVIDIA Korea AI Ecosystem Reception" held at the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 8th. Lee Sang-soo, an analyst at iM Securities, stated in a report on the 9th, “The various narratives surrounding the domestic robotics industry sparked by Jensen Huang’s remarks should be viewed not as a short-term issue but as a medium- to long-term momentum.” Jensen Huang held a second "Kanbu" meeting in Seongsu-dong on the 5th with SK Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin. In the securities industry, there is a prevailing sentiment that greater weight should be placed on the remarks regarding the Korean robotics industry made before and after his visit to Korea than on the meeting itself. During his visit, Jensen Huang emphasized, “South Korea is a country with an excellent ecosystem, outstanding technology, and exceptional companies. Robotics is a very important field in Korea, and NVIDIA can contribute to its growth.” He also stated, “There are many industries in South Korea worth investing in, and the robotics industry, in particular, will become a core industry for the next generation of South Korea.” On the 8th, he also held meetings with domestic robotics industry representatives. The analyst explained, “There have not been many instances where Jensen Huang has emphasized the growth potential of a specific industry other than semiconductors in this manner,” adding, “Since market expectations for humanoids had not translated into stock prices due to market factors, market interest has focused on LG and Doosan Group stocks, as these major Korean conglomerates have relatively well-established robotics ecosystems.” The two listed companies for which specific details of cooperation were disclosed during this visit are #DoosanRobotics and #LGElectronics. Regarding LG Electronics, Jensen Huang specifically mentioned robotics as one of three areas of cooperation with the LG Group, and the two companies plan to jointly develop a reference humanoid robot. Doosan Robotics has already been utilizing the NVIDIA platform in the development and deployment of collaborative robots, and it was confirmed during this visit that the company will actively utilize this platform in humanoid development as well. The analyst also viewed companies not specifically mentioned as potential beneficiaries. "All domestic humanoid robot companies are potential customers who have no choice but to use NVIDIA solutions," he said, assessing that #RainbowRobotics and #Robotis are also highly likely to become partners in the future. In particular, he believes Rainbow Robotics is highly likely to unveil a humanoid product within the second half of this year.
