P&T Link Expected to Benefit from Expanded Investment in 'Sovereign AI'

M83 Subsidiary… “Growing Need for Self-Reliance in AI Models”

[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh-seok] P&T Link, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, announced on the 17th that it will strengthen its related business operations in response to the growing demand for Sovereign AI, which has come to the fore following the U.S. restrictions on access to “Mitos 5.” P&T Link is an AI infrastructure subsidiary wholly owned by its parent company, #M83.

According to recent foreign media reports, the U.S. government has issued guidelines restricting foreign access to Anthropic’s top-tier AI models, “Mythos 5” and “Fable 5.” As a result, the global industry is assessing that AI models have effectively been elevated to the status of national strategic assets. Consequently, in South Korea as well, the need to reduce dependence on overseas super-large models and establish a “sovereign AI” system based on domestic AI technology and infrastructure is gaining prominence.
In particular, observers predict that efforts to expand the adoption of domestically developed AI models and infrastructure will gain momentum, starting with public sectors directly linked to security and sensitive information—such as defense and healthcare—and extending across the entire private sector, including financial institutions, manufacturing firms, and platform companies. The combination of “domestic infrastructure + domestic models” is emerging as a strategic choice in terms of data sovereignty, security, and regulatory compliance.
P&T Link is a company specializing in the construction of AI infrastructure, such as GPU servers and AI storage. Even amid a global shortage of AI servers, it has consistently supplied servers to domestic customers through partnerships with companies like xFusion and ASRock Rack.
This year alone, the company has secured server supply contracts worth approximately 77 billion won with major domestic platform companies such as Naver Cloud and Kakao, and additional orders are expected as demand for AI data center expansion grows.
A company official stated, “Restrictions on access to overseas mega-models like Mitos 5 are a clear signal that countries must build their own sovereign AI infrastructure and models,” adding, “It is highly likely that investment in and construction of sovereign AI infrastructure will accelerate in Korea as well, and this is expected to have a positive impact on our business.”
The spokesperson added, “Building on our supply track record with major domestic platform companies such as Naver Cloud and Kakao, we will further strengthen our efforts to penetrate the domestic AI server and storage market.”
