SFA Nexel, a company specializing in equipment for rechargeable battery electrode processes, announced on the 18th that it has signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with a battery cell manufacturer currently pursuing a large-scale battery production project in Europe, and is exploring possibilities for technical and business cooperation regarding the supply of electrode process equipment and next-generation battery process solutions.
SFA Nexel is a next-generation battery cell manufacturer working to establish an electric vehicle battery production hub in Europe and is expanding its production capacity with the goal of joining the supply chains of global automakers.
SFA Nexel plans to explore collaboration opportunities related to new battery production projects based on its lineup of core battery electrode process equipment—including coaters, roll presses, and slitters—and its experience in executing such projects.
Major European countries are continuing to provide policy support to internalize battery supply chains and secure a local procurement base. As the need to establish a battery production base becomes increasingly prominent amid the shift toward electric vehicles, demand for technical cooperation regarding electrode process equipment and next-generation process solutions required for production line construction is expected to grow.
An SFA Nexel official stated, “With the change of our company name to SFA Nexel, we will combine the SFA Group’s capabilities in the manufacturing equipment business with our own technical expertise in electrode process equipment to expand technology development and collaboration opportunities in the field of next-generation battery process solutions, such as dry electrodes and all-solid-state batteries.”
#SFA Nexel, which changed its name from CIS, is scheduled to be relisted under its new name later this month.
