IVE Conquers Japan’s Leading Music Show… Appears on ‘The Music Day’

Expanding Its Presence from Tokyo Dome and Oricon to Broadcasting "All-Around Local Popularity" Spanning Music, Live Performances, and Broadcasting

According to Japan’s Nippon TV, IVE will take the stage at “The Music Day 2026,” a live broadcast running for approximately 9 hours and 30 minutes starting at 1:30 p.m. on the 4th.
“The Music Day” is a major music special program hosted by Nippon TV every summer. It is an event that brings together Japan’s top singers and idols. As it features artists who are the talk of the town every year, the program is considered one of the most highly anticipated events in Japan.
IVE’s appearance is seen as a continuation of their recent successes in Japan. Last month, they successfully concluded their second world tour, “SHOW WHAT I AM,” with a concert at Tokyo Dome, bringing their Japanese dome tour to a close. Not only did they draw a total audience of over 127,000, but major Japanese sports newspapers and broadcasters also provided extensive coverage following the concerts, demonstrating the high level of local interest.
Their album sales have also been consistently strong. Their fourth Japanese EP, “LUCID DREAM,” released last May, reached No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Combined Album Chart, marking the group’s third No. 1 record overall. At the same time, it recorded the highest points of any overseas female artist this year and topped the Billboard Japan Weekly Album Sales Chart, sweeping Japan’s major charts.
Since their debut in Japan, IVE has been establishing a solid foothold in the local market by expanding their influence beyond digital releases, physical albums, and live performances to include television appearances. Their appearance on the major music special program “The Music Day” is a symbolic move that further demonstrates this popularity. It is also significant in that K-pop girl groups’ activities in Japan are not limited to one-off promotions but are simultaneously securing both local popularity and a dedicated fanbase.
