On the 3rd, their agency, Starship Entertainment, released a video titled “No New Songs? New Songs!!! You’ve Got to Introduce Them to Us” on MONSTA X’s official YouTube channel. Going beyond a simple highlight medley or concept content, the video caught viewers’ attention with a format where Ki Hyun had to guess the track titles based on images generated by artificial intelligence (AI) using the lyrics.
In the video, Ki Hyun took on the challenge of guessing song titles based solely on AI-generated illustrations. At first, he struggled, repeatedly mixing up “Lazy Day,” “Late Night Drive,” and “Stealin’ Air,” but he drew laughter with his signature wit, saying, “It’s the AI that’s weird. Humans are still far superior,” drawing laughter with his signature witty banter.
After getting the hang of it, Ki-hyun correctly guessed “Howling,” the title track “So Good,” “Domino,” and “Late Night Drive” in succession, earning the chance to listen to the songs. While listening to the music, he conveyed the atmosphere through his body language and facial expressions, and even hummed parts of the melodies himself to indirectly convey the vibe of the new songs.
Regarding the title track “So Good” in particular, he described it as “having a refreshing feel, but it’s a little different from being simply ‘cool,’” and physically demonstrated the intense progression of the bridge section. Regarding “Domino,” he expressed confidence in the song’s completeness, noting, “While there are many songs around two minutes these days, this one includes the entire bridge.” He also heightened anticipation for “Late Night Drive”—which he cited as his favorite track on the album—by revealing, “Even though it’s a genre I’m trying for the first time, I’m particularly drawn to it.”
This content stands out not only for revealing snippets of the new songs but also for being structured to allow fans to join in the process of deduction and imagination. As K-pop teaser content has recently evolved beyond concept photos and highlight medleys to include interactive elements combining variety shows and games, Ki-hyun has also stoked curiosity about the album in a unique way, heating up the atmosphere for his comeback.
Ki Hyun will release his second mini-album, “Borderline,” at 6 p.m. on the 7th, marking his return to solo activities after about two years.
