According to their agency, Cube Entertainment, i-dle will release their 9th mini-album, “We Made,” on the 6th. The album features a total of five tracks, including the title track “Gimme Dat Love,” the pre-release track “Crow,” the digital single “Mono” (Feat. skaiwater), “Morning,” and “Love Is Pain.”
Having built their own unique musical universe by prioritizing self-production since their debut, iKON has once again chosen to evolve this year, marking their 8th anniversary. This album weaves together different genres and messages into a single narrative, presenting a new direction for the group.
The starting point for this change was “Mono” (Feat. skaiwater), released last January. Breaking away from their previous intense image and featuring a minimalist sound, this track presented a new musical direction focused on the essence through the message “Play the whole world in Mono.”
The follow-up release, “Crow,” combined intense band sounds with a mega-crew performance to create an even more overwhelming energy. The message—reinterpreting the crow not as a symbol of bad luck but as a symbol of the will to rise again—resonated with global fans and led to the song topping the QQ Music Digital Album Best-Selling Singles Chart in China for three consecutive weeks.
The title track “Gimme Dat Love” marks the pinnacle of this transformation. A Latin pop-based summer love song featuring a distinctive whistling sound, it sensually captures the emotions of the moment when two people are strongly drawn to each other. While “Mono” explored the essence of love and “Crow” conveyed self-confidence, “Gimme Dat Love” brings the most instinctive emotion—love—to the forefront, showcasing the group’s increasingly mature musical world.
This album is particularly significant in that it goes beyond mere genre variations to expand the group’s musical spectrum. By organically weaving together minimal pop, band sounds, and Latin pop, they have further solidified their identity as a self-producing group. As A.I.E. marks its 8th anniversary, this album—which signals a new chapter as they embark on yet another musical challenge—is generating high anticipation.
