[E-Daily Reporter Kang Min-koo ] Business data platform company coocon Corporation(294570)has completed a Proof of Concept (PoC) for “Stablecoin Issuance and Payment Ecosystem Development,” jointly conducted with iM Bank and Vitoz.
This PoC is significant because, as discussions on the institutionalization of stablecoins gain momentum both domestically and internationally, it demonstrates collaboration among payment infrastructure providers, banks, and blockchain companies to verify the practicality of stablecoin-based services and lay the groundwork for the expansion of the digital financial ecosystem.
(Source: coocon Corporation) In this PoC, coocon Corporation played a pivotal role in integrating iM Bank’s traditional financial infrastructure with Vitoz’s blockchain and CPG (Crypto Payment Gateway) technology into a single payment system, leveraging its payment data API and infrastructure connectivity technology.
This enabled the integration of the entire process—from user payment requests to merchant information lookups, blockchain-based payment processing, and result notifications—creating an environment where payment data is reliably processed across different systems.
Furthermore, by leveraging the characteristics of blockchain, the project transparently recorded all payment transactions and implemented a process enabling immediate settlement for merchants. It is expected to not only reduce payment fees and accelerate cash flow but also promote the circulation of funds within the region, thereby contributing to the revitalization of local commerce and the creation of a virtuous cycle of consumption.
Based on the results of this PoC, coocon Corporation plans to explore the feasibility of commercializing stablecoin-based payment and settlement services and expand its scope of application to various digital financial services.
Kim Jong-hyun, CEO of coocon Corporation, stated, “Through this PoC, we have confirmed the possibility of integrating existing financial infrastructure with blockchain payment systems into a single payment flow.” He added, “Building on our long-standing expertise in financial API platforms and our large-scale payment network, coocon Corporation will expand its role as a trusted technology partner in the digital asset ecosystem.”
