[E-Daily Reporter Yun Junghoon ]SKTelecom(017670)is launching a full-scale summer marketing campaign by simultaneously introducing enhanced roaming benefits for international travelers and membership promotions for domestic day-trippers.

According to the mobile communications industry on the 13th, SKTelecom is running a “T Roaming” promotion for customers traveling abroad through August 21. In particular, the promotion is specifically targeting the 20s and 30s generation, whose wallets have grown thinner amid high inflation.

Customers aged 19 to 39 (born between 1986 and 2006) who have not used T Roaming in the past 36 months will receive a 70% discount on the “baro” and “baro YT” rate plans. This offer is limited to one use per person.

For example, if you choose the “baro YT 4GB” plan—which is tailored for young adults—you can use it for 8,700 won, a 70% discount off the regular price. If you combine this with the “Club T Roaming” benefit from T Membership (1GB of free data and a discount worth 5,000 won from partner companies upon return), you’ll effectively be using a total of 5GB of data at a perceived plan price of around 3,700 won. For just an additional 3,000 won, you can also apply “Family Roaming,” which allows up to five people to share the data.

The company is also expanding data allowances for existing roaming users. SK is providing up to 16GB of free additional data—compared to previous amounts—for eight major roaming plans, including “Baro 6GB” and “Baro YT 7GB.” Even after the base data allowance is exhausted, users can continue using data at a speed of 1 Mbps without restrictions, reducing concerns about unexpected high data charges.

T Membership benefits for so-called “U-turn vacationers”—those spending their summer vacations in Korea—will also be significantly enhanced.

SKT is running “SUMMER LUCKY WEEK (T day Week 2)” through T Membership for five days, starting today and running through the 17th. During this period, T Membership customers can enjoy major water parks at half price, including a 50% discount on adult all-day passes to Everland’s Caribbean Bay and free jacket rentals, as well as a 50% discount on admission tickets to Vivaldi Park Ocean World.

A “Lucky Chance” event for VIP customers will also be held. A total of 100 winners will be selected via a drawing to receive accommodation vouchers for seven leading 5-star hotels across four regions nationwide, including the Walker Hill Hotel & Resort in Seoul, Park Hyatt Busan, C-Mark Gangneung, and Jeju Podo Hotel.

In addition, SKT has expanded the scope of its benefits to cover all aspects of lifestyle by adding a large number of new permanent T Membership partners in the fields of education (Hackers), culture (Flashback Gye-rim), and wellness (Obub).
