[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] #ROKIT HEALTHCARE Inc.’s stock price has been surging for several consecutive days. This is believed to be due to a surge in buying interest following news that the company is set to perform the world’s first human surgery for kidney regeneration. According to MP Doctor on the 14th, ROKIT HEALTHCARE Inc.’s stock was trading at 44,650 won as of 9:12 a.m., up 21.66% from the previous trading day. It had also closed up more than 15% the previous day (the 13th). Earlier, the company issued a press release stating, “We have obtained final approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for Advanced Regenerative Medicine Clinical Research at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and will begin the world’s first human clinical surgery for kidney regeneration in earnest starting this month.” Following the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s approval of their advanced regenerative medicine research plan in late May, Seoul Asan Medical Center and ROKIT HEALTHCARE Inc. have now completed all regulatory approval procedures. Accordingly, starting this month, they plan to perform kidney regeneration surgeries using the patient’s own Omentum-derived cells on 10 patients with chronic kidney disease. The core technology used in these surgeries has already been patented in the United States, Japan, and South Korea. The company explained that this clinical trial is highly significant as it represents the world’s first attempt to directly verify the potential for kidney function recovery and tissue regeneration, going beyond a simple safety assessment. Since the patient’s own tissue is used, immune rejection can be prevented at the source. The procedure employs cutting-edge convergent technology that combines an AI-based 3D bioprinter with state-of-the-art robotic surgery to precisely implant customized regenerative patches.
