[E-Daily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] LGELECTRONICS has launched a new refrigerated ice water dispenser that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to dispense water and ice using only voice commands. Not only does it dispense water and ice in response to the user’s voice commands, but the AI also learns usage patterns to provide personalized dispensing features and serves as an AI Home Hub to control other home appliances.

(Photo courtesy of LGELECTRONICS) LGELECTRONICS announced on the 16th that it is launching the “LG Puricare AI Refrigerated Water and Ice Dispenser.” With this new product, users can get filtered water, cold water, and ice simply by saying natural language voice commands—such as “Hi LG, give me 200 milliliters of cold water” or “Give me a cup of ice”—after calling out “Hi LG.” If the user says “Stop” while water is dispensing, the dispenser stops immediately, preventing water from overflowing.
The new product also features “AI Customized Dispensing,” which learns the user’s usage patterns. By analyzing approximately four weeks of dispensing data, the product suggests up to three customized options based on the user’s frequently used water temperatures and dispensing volumes. Additionally, the “Recipe” feature automatically provides water at the optimal volume and temperature for 10 different menu items, including instant coffee mixes, brewed coffee, green tea, black tea, instant noodles, and infant formula.
The AI Home Hub functionality has also been enhanced. Customers can use voice commands to control various home appliances connected to LG Corp. ThinQ—such as washers, dryers, air conditioners, air purifiers, refrigerators, and dishwashers—or check information like the remaining laundry time. Based on a Large Language Model (LLM), it also provides lifestyle information such as major news, weather, and schedules via voice.
The hygiene management features also retain the strengths of the existing Puricare water purifier. The All-Puri Filter System removes nine types of heavy metals and norovirus, and the direct water supply pipe undergoes automatic high-temperature sterilization once a week. The water dispenser and ice dispenser feature UVnano sterilization, and a cup detection sensor ensures that water or ice is not dispensed if no cup is present when a voice command is issued. The front display has also been enlarged from the previous 4.3 inches to 6.8 inches, allowing users to intuitively check key functions, weather, and energy consumption.

Subscribers also receive regular maintenance services, including filter replacement, high-temperature sterilization of the direct water supply pipe and dispenser, ice compartment management, and disassembly and inspection of the ice dispenser.
Kim Jae-il, Head of LGELECTRONICS’ Kitchen Solutions Business Division, said, “We will expand our lineup of water purifiers optimized for residential spaces and customer lifestyles, and continue to provide a more convenient customer experience through artificial intelligence.”
