[E-Daily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] KTCorporation(030200)has partnered with global artificial intelligence (AI) company Palantir to host an in-house AI hackathon aimed at identifying Agent AI that can be applied to on-site operations.

KTCorporation announced on the 16th that it held “Agent Camp,” an AI hackathon for employees, at its Bundang headquarters from the 13th to the 15th.

This event was organized to concretize KTCorporation’s Chonbang Engineer (FDE) strategy and secure AI execution capabilities that can be validated in the field. FDE refers to field-oriented engineers who collaborate to solve customer and on-site problems based on technology and data. Their role involves directly understanding business operations and connecting AI with data, systems, and business processes to handle everything from design to implementation and operation.

At Agent Camp, participants were assigned Agent AI projects that could be practically applied to KTCorporation’s key business areas. The main projects included three initiatives: △ an AI network security monitoring agent, △ an AI energy operations optimization agent, and △ a Data for AI agent. Participants designed solutions for each project based on the integration of AI and data.

Palantir’s data integration platform “Foundry” and AI platform “AIP” were also utilized. Participants built ontologies to connect data into meaningful units, implemented AI agents based on these ontologies, and validated their feasibility for real-world application. An ontology is a knowledge model that connects business tasks and data into a single semantic framework, enabling AI agents to understand the business context and determine what to do, why, and how.

Palantir’s FDE team participated as mentors in this event, providing technical guidance and supporting collaboration. KTCorporation explained that this hackathon was significant not merely as an event for developing Agent AI agents, but because frontline employees directly identified work-related problems and found practical ways to improve efficiency.

KTCorporation plans to continue expanding internal AI innovation programs such as Agent AI Camp. The goal is to strengthen FDE capabilities, which enable the rapid execution of the entire process—from data, AI, and system development to operations. Through this, KTCorporation aims to cultivate field-oriented experts capable of responding agilely to customer needs and to enhance its execution and drive in the Business-to-Business (B2B) AI Transformation (AX) market.

Byeon Woo-cheol, Executive Vice President in charge of P-FDE at KTCorporation’s AX Engineering Division, stated, “We will strengthen our employees’ AI utilization capabilities by establishing various AI innovation programs, such as this Agent Camp.” He added, “KTCorporation will secure proven execution capabilities through collaboration with global partners such as Palantir and, based on this, continue to expand our competitiveness in the B2B AX market.”
