[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Jang Min-ho and Kim Dae-ho, who successfully led Season 1 of MBN’s “Legends of the Unknown,” will team up again as co-hosts for Season 2.
MBN’s “Legend of the Unknown—The Trot Guys’ Rank War” returns this winter for Season 2. “Legend of the Unknown” is a massive trot audition show where contestants, from unknowns to celebrities, set aside their status and compete based solely on talent; it crowned Seong-ri as the “First Legend” and the ultimate winner. As a host, Jang Min-ho highlighted the show’s authenticity by demonstrating a deep understanding and empathy for the contestants—better than anyone else—drawn from his own long period of obscurity and experience with trot auditions. He also earned viewers’ trust through his steady hosting skills, honed on various variety shows, and his extensive knowledge of trot music. Kim Dae-ho also received praise for drawing out the contestants’ natural charm by combining his experience debuting through a national audition program with the smooth hosting skills and witty banter expected of a veteran announcer. In particular, the two were credited with enhancing the show’s entertainment value and quality through hosting that leveraged their respective strengths and their delightful bromance chemistry. The production team stated, “The power of these two MCs, who understand the hearts of unknown artists, played a major role in moving viewers’ hearts. Going beyond simply summarizing and delivering content, we expect the genuine and heartfelt performances of Jang Min-ho and Kim Dae-ho—who draw out the stories from the depths of the unknown artists’ hearts and their sincere, behind-the-scenes personalities—to shine even brighter in Season 2.” Please look forward to the performances of the ‘Ho-Ho Brothers,’ who have now established themselves as ‘trusted’ MCs for trot audition shows, and the birth of the ‘Second Legend’ who will succeed ‘First Legend’ Seong-ri,” they added. Meanwhile, “Unknown Legends” is accepting applications for its first round of participants from the 13th of this month through the 28th of next month. Anyone can apply—including singers looking to break out of obscurity; artists from other genres such as idol, ballad, rock, and crossover; active singers eager for a new stage; broadcasters aspiring to become singers; and students who love to sing.
