SamsungElectronics determines Long-Term Incentives (LTI) for executives who have been with the company for at least three years by evaluating their business performance over the previous three years, and distributes these incentives over the following three years. The payment amount is determined based on performance, ranging from 0% to 300% of the average annual salary.
Starting last year, SamsungElectronics revised its system to allow a portion of the LTI to be paid in company stock rather than cash, with the aim of strengthening executives’ accountability and encouraging long-term growth in corporate value. The intent is to align the interests of management and shareholders by linking performance-based compensation to the stock price.
